Meet Dewy! A sweet little puppy who belongs to a very special friend of my brothers! This was done as a birthday gift, and is a 20"x 20" stretched canvas painted with acrylic paint. It was a suprise, so I was painting from the camera photo that you see to the left. Photos are the most important part of the process (and aren't we lucky to have such amazing telephones with great cameras) and the more detailed a photo- the higher the details in the finished project. When the details aren't quite as fine, what you get is a more "painterly" effect. If you prefer a more abstract style, please let me know! While I always strive for the most realistic and true-to-life product, I am willing and capable of doing something purely FUN! Interested in having a portrait done for someone for the holidays? I still have availability left to fill before the Holidays arrive! Contact me today! Welcome back friends! I'm here to show you the latest addition to the Dog Gallery, "Georgia"! Georgia is a 12 inch by 12 inch charcoal/colored pastel on Acid Free Recycled paper. She is just an adorable dog and I'm glad to have her in the collection! There are going to be a lot of projects coming up on the blog this November, so make sure you keep tuning in for all the latest art and craft ideas we'll be coming up with this fall! See you real soon! Hello everyone! I've got a great project that is easy to do yourself and is sure to make you smile! My sister is getting married soon, so I was given the task of creating a cake topper for them. It is made from a small wooden platform, and three wooden dolls that can be purchased at your local craft store. They are raw wood and painted with acrylic paint. From there it is up to your imagination to fill in the rest! I got the details from the bride about what her hair would look like (and took one of the "heads" from the smaller wooden dolls - which came in a pack of three - and used a glue gun to secure it to the back of the head, then painted over it) as well as her jewlery and the flowers and clothes they would be wearing, to make it as personalized as possible.
Brutus - Oil Painting 20"x20" on Canvas Greetings art and animal lovers! Welcome to another edition of my blog, where I will be posting all of the projects I have going as I complete them. I'm excited to unveil my latest dog portrait! Brutus is the first oil painting I have done in a while, so it is a great new addition to my gallery. Brutus is a four year old full blooded brindle boxer and was both a unique challenge and a joy to paint! I love boxers, they're one of my all time favorite breeds. *You must forgive my horrible pictures, I am no photographer (and all I have is a camera phone - if you can believe it) and the lighting is not ideal. The colors are much more vibrant than they are showing here. I hope to be posting a better photo soon. Hopefully, it will be of him hanging up in his new place where his family can enjoy him!* Hope you enjoy and I'll have more to show you real soon! Happy painting!
As part of this years "Spring Eggstravaganza" at the First Baptist Junior Academy of Jacksonville, businesses and parents alike have donated an amazing array of baskets and items for one of the years biggest fundraisers. I offered my services on several of the projects and the latest one I've completed is what I will show you today! One of our parents has a uncle that makes the MOST adorable wooden toys and furniture and I was given the raw wood items to personalize for the event. If you are interested in supporting this wonderful school, please follow the links to find out how you can purchase tickets to the event, which takes place on April 5, 2013 from 6-8 pm and includes a fabulous catered mean from Buca di Beppo .
Help rescue the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Support the Arts! I'm helping, you can too! In my family, we have a few dog breeds that tickle the heart strings a bit more than the rest, though we love them all! Among our favorites is The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and there have been many precious and well-remembered members of the family from the breed. An opportunity to support an event benefiting rescue organizations dedicated to the King Charles Spaniel came across my table. I did not have to think long about whether or not to participate. I didn't have much time, but I created an original piece for the auction from my imagination. (I really just wondered what it would be like to be my Aunt Susan...walking her brood of boys down the street.) Thus "Morning Out With The Boys," (pictured above) was created, and I am hoping that it will help those honorable dog lovers out there and these precious animals they are fighting to rescue. Would you like to be a fan of the Cavalier Brigade?! Would you like to participate in The auction or offer to assit your aid in a future event? Please follow the links above to view the MANY ADORABLE items up for bid. It isn't just art either! The Auction is open from March 17-23, 2013. Highest bidder wins! It's all for the puppies! Thanks for stopping by and we'll see you at the auction! One of my newest and more hilarious endeavors lately has been the "Handprint Animals." My daughter is in Pre-K and I was asked by the office staff if I could help turn students hands and footprints into animals for a quilt they were putting together for a fundraiser. Well, suffice to say that I became slightly obsessed with creating these fun keepsakes...and I can't wait to see the finished quilt with all 130 hands from the entire Junior Academy! I am sorry I don't have ALL of the before shots to go along with the finished painted squares...but if you can see the hand or foot inside the image (Which I certainly hope you can,) then you can create them at home with your own children (or alone in your room...I won't tell.) Like this idea? Don't fret...I'm full of these! Check back next time for a new batch of critters! Thanks so much for stopping by. See ya real soon! Make your own Lion and Clown Fish Handprint Art! |
